Getting Here
For the duration of the World Cup, we recommend leaving additional time to travel to Granville Island. Traffic volumes are expected to be heavier with high demand for limited parking. We highly recommend using public transportation, or arriving by bike, scooter, or ferry.
Via Bike/Scooter
Free valet bike and scooter parking is available during the summer from 10am to 7pm, with extended hours during the Granville Island Watch Party. Find out more here.
There are also many bike racks located conveniently throughout the Island. Be sure to use a sturdy lock and fasten your bike securely.
Mobi Bikeshare stations and Lime E-Scooter stations are located on-island, though availability may be limited.
Via Public Transit
Skytrains and busses will be more frequent during the World Cup to account for the influx in visitors to the city, with some detours due to downtown closures. Find out more here.
The #50 Waterfront-False Creek bus from Gastown stops at the entrance to Granville Island. You can also catch a number of busses that stop at Granville & 5th Ave, or walk 30-minutes along the seawall from Olympic Village Skytrain Station.
For more help with your route, see Translink’s trip planner here.
Via Ferry
The False Creek Ferries and Aquabus offer quick, scenic, and affordable rides across False Creek to Granville Island. Both services connect the Island to downtown, Yaletown, Olympic Village, and other key locations, with extended hours throughout the tournament.
