House Teams

Ready to take your improv to the next level?

Our House Teams Program is a 6-month mentorship experience where you’ll train, perform, and grow alongside other improvisers in the community.

We created this program for developing performers who are excited to build their skills and explore the story-driven short and mid-form style we use on our Mainstage. If you’re dreaming about becoming part of the Mainstage Ensemble someday, this is a great place to start.

Here’s how it works:

• Auditions are required to take part
• House Teams are formed by our Artistic Team and include 6 to 8 performers
• You’ll rehearse and perform together for the full 6 months, giving the team time to grow, learn, and build chemistry
• You’re welcome to perform with your team at other venues during the program

Each team is paired with a Coach who guides rehearsals, teaches new skills, and helps shape your show format. The cost of the program is $300 per participant, which covers coaching and rehearsal space. A $50 deposit is due once you’re accepted, with the remaining $250 collected before your first rehearsal.

This program was created to support the next generation of great improvisers.

If cost is a barrier, let us know in your application. We want the program to be accessible, and will work with you to find a solution. This is more about linking the right people together, and to give talented improvisers the space and opportunity to grow, more than it is about money.

TIC welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds and identities. This includes, but is not limited to members of any sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, social and economic class, educational level, colour, immigration status, sex, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, and mental and physical ability.
