The Heat 2027 Application Portal – Festival Ensemble

Join us for our 4th year of The Heat – International Improv Comedy Festival hosted by The Improv Centre on Granville Island in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This 5-day festival will celebrate a myriad of talent from across the globe and YOU could be part of it!

New this year, we will be adding a Festival Ensemble!

The Festival Ensemble will bring together high-level improvisers from around the world, who will receive coaching from a TIC Mainstage performer, be featured in the festival, and star in a Festival Ensemble showcase! Additionally, they’ll participate in workshops, activities and jams, meet fellow performers and improv-enthusiasts from around the world and revel in the joy of yes, and!

We want to see what you’ve got! So…will YOU bring THE HEAT?

Successful applicants will receive:

  • training and rehearsals run by one of our very best coaches at TIC!
  • a complimentary ticket to every show at The Heat!
  • a spot in all private workshops run by the headlining teams!
  • a chance to perform a never-before-seen showcase show with a brand-new group of players!
  • a spot in at least 3 performances during The Heat (performing with a mix of TIC cast members and international headliners!)
  • a $100 CAD honorarium

The following is not covered:

  • coverage of travel
  • accommodation
  • personal expenses

We encourage local, national, and international performers to apply. Successful applicants will need to travel to Vancouver, Canada and be available for Festival Ensemble rehearsals and shows.

Please complete and submit the information below to apply. There is a $15 CAD application fee for all Festival Ensemble applications. Applications will not be considered unless your application fee has been paid.

The following submission form will not save your work as you go, so we suggest you write your answers separately in a word processor so you don’t lose your work.
